This radio-controlled schoolhouse clock with swinging pendulum and oak finish from River City Clocks is so precise in its timekeeping that every single clock in the house can be set to its time. This lovely clock is perfect for hanging on walls, whether in a living room, dining room, study or conservatory, and the nine inch face with the large digits make it easy to tell the time even at a fair distance away.
The clock has a shiny brass pendulum that gently swings below the clock face and which is enclosed in a glass-fronted compartment in the wooden case.
This high tech clock requires very little human intervention – indeed, all that is required is the insertion of an AA battery and the selection of the proper time zone via a push button. The clock updates its time zones and ultimately its time by searching out the signals that are emitted from the National Institute of Standards and Technology station in Colorado. It also automatically adjusts for daylight saving times. Although these signals from Colorado are strong enough to penetrate most buildings, it is advisable, if possible, to place the clock close to a window or patio door and at least six feet away from an electrical appliance such as a TV or PC.
The clock itself measures 21 x 13 x 3½ inches and the case is constructed from alder-wood. The pendulum requires an additional AA battery to be inserted for it to swing.
